Beaver Mountain Ski Vacations Some of the Best Snow Conditions in the World Beaver Mountain Ski Area is located in northern Utah, and has been family owned and operated since 1939. If you have heard boasts about the best maintained slopes around, come and see for yourself. The northeast exposure is ideal for morning sun. With avalanche-free conditions and very little wind, Beaver Mountain is an all-around great place to ski. Beginners will want to steer towards the Little Beaver and Gentle Ben runs. Intermediates will enjoy the usually machine-packed Ridge, Stump and D-Street trails. Harry's Hollow is designated as the "racers" run and for hot doggers. The Snoopy Ski School, for children 5 to 8, is an all-day class (except lunch) and runs five weeks on Saturdays or Sundays and during the week of the Christmas holiday. Wasatch–Cache National Forest is a United States National Forest located primarily in northern Utah, with smaller parts extending into southeastern Idaho and southwestern Wyoming. The name is derived from the Ute word Wasatch for a low place in high mountains, and the French word Cache meaning to hide. The term cache originally referred to fur trappers, the first Europeans to visit the land. The Wasatch–Cache National Forest boundaries include 1,607,177 acres of land. Wasatch–Cache was headquartered in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah until August 2007 when its management was combined with the Uinta National Forest and is currently being managed as the Uinta–Wasatch–Cache National Forest. The merged forest is based out of South Jordan, Utah. The Kamas Ranger District was merged with the Uinta National Forest's Heber Ranger District in Heber City. With the newly included Uinta National Forest the forest will expand to 2,487,896 acres. The Cache National Forest portion is located in northern Utah and southern Idaho.
